For some time, a proud residential district has been growing on the edge of the Geesthacht harbor near Hamburg. It was not until May 2019 that Ed. Züblin AG, based in Stuttgart, laid the foundation for the construction of a further 244 residential units with a project volume of around 57 million €. Completion in Geesthacht is planned for the end of 2021. Twenty ElbMonteure assemblers support local heating and plumbing installations – currently with the extensive piping of rental apartments.
Section 2 of the flagship project "Elbterassen"
The already completed "Elbterrassen I" and the "Elbterassen II" under construction belong to the new Geesthacht urban quarter "Wohnen am Westhafen", which will be realized in several phases. Patrick Hering, founder of ElbMonteure, is particularly pleased about the added attractiveness of the city: "I am at home in beautiful Geesthacht and appreciate this region. Of course it is a dream to be part of the project "Elbterassen II" with Die ElbMonteure. For many, many years, the city has barely exhausted its potential in terms of attractive living space, because the great location on the Elbe was blocked by commercial areas. It's great that this is changing now – thanks to a particularly quick project planning phase for this specific project. "
It took only two years from the initial project idea to the approval process to the complete marketing of the rental apartments and the start of construction. This unbureaucratic masterpiece makes possible the largest coherent multi-storey building project in Geesthacht in recent decades. The city deserves it because they offer their residents a lot of living comfort.
Adorable Geesthacht – perfect for singles and families
Patrick Hering: "Whether you are a single person or a family, here you have everything you need to live nicely in Hamburg, without having to put up with the hustle and bustle of Hamburg. Geesthacht offers all types of schools, a varied cultural and leisure offer and great shopping. In addition to many popular sports clubs, the city also trumps with water sports on the Elbe and motorsport on the Heidbergring. In addition, cool drinks in restaurants close to water and great recreational and nature reserves, e. the Besenhorster sand mountains. I love the region and its insider tips, e.g. the BurgerKultour restaurant. And the traffic connection to Hamburg is certainly above average."
Urgently needed living space in the metropolitan region of Hamburg
Living space is urgently necessary in Geesthacht. Since 2012, the population has increased by almost 5 percent. This was determined by the Moses Mendelssohn Institute in a comprehensive site analysis. At least until 2030, the population of currently around 31,000 inhabitants will continue to rise each year. And the number is rising, as the ZÜBLIN North Directorate is currently realizing seven 4 to 5 storey buildings with 244 apartments as well as two underground garages with 217 parking spaces.
Publicly subsidized housing for the Hamburg Metropolitan Region
The construction project with a total gross floor area of approx. 31,000 m² is divided into three areas: 105 privately financed rental apartments acquired by Bergedorf-Bille Baugenossenschaft eG, 67 condominiums, which are marketed by Sparda Immobilien GmbH under the name "WATERKANT" , as well as 72 partly publicly subsidized rental apartments. The latter were purchased by a subsidiary of NORD PROJECT Immobilien und Beteiligungsgesellschaft. Olaf Schulze, mayor of the city of Geesthacht, is convinced that the high proportion of low-priced flats will further increase the attractiveness of the newly emerging residential district. A total of 61 publicly subsidized apartments with 1-3 rooms are to be let after completion for 5.95 € per m². Nice that ElbMonteure can contribute.
