Medical equipment manufacturer Olympus is on course for growth and is massively expanding its Hamburg site. Among other things, the Japanese are expanding their European development and production center in Kuehnstrasse (Hamburg-Jenfeld) by 20,000 square meters. The basic idea of the plant extension is the connection of the new buildings to the building stock on the Olympus site. The Medical Systems Division is Olympus' largest division and global market and technology leader in medical endoscopes. Kuehnstraße is the development and production of rigid endoscopes. In addition to production - with a focus on rigid endoscopes - service and logistics will also be moving into the new building from 2019 onwards.
